My last day working at Disney. At some points I thought this day would never come. But here I am.
I had a touch of packing to do before I headed in.
First thing I did was take everything off my noticeboard. It has been a lovely sight to come home to and wake up to each day while here. Looked very perculiar once I had packed it all away.

I got pretty much everything packed, just a few things left to add over the next few days. I wasn't sure if I was close to the weight limits so popped over to Walgreens (for the last time) to get some travel scales and a few other bits and bobs.
I then got into my costume for the very last time. What a hilarious feeling.
On my way into work I had to drop off my costumes to costuming. I took everything but the one I was wearing.
I am ready to throw out my shoes too- they really are only just hanging in there.

I worked 4.45-1.15am. It was a peculiar feeling during my shift. Knowing I wouldn't be back here doing it all again was bittersweet.
One of the other Cast Members Paul had brought me a small gift. I had given him a tiki keyring. Such a treat.
Tonight I had to return my pins. In my first break I walked on down in the pouring rain to return them. Goodbye pins. You've been fun, and a great way to interact with the guests.
While I was down there I also enquired about getting my evaluation. You get these at the end of your program. No one seemed to know who my home room manager was though. When you first arrive you are supposed to be assigned a home room manager. I never knew who mine was, and I assumed this was because they had been too lazy to let me know. Turns out I had just never been assigned one. How odd. Anyway, the manager who was there was extremely kind and said she would do it for me anyway. It was a great evaluation. Thanks LaJoy.
It felt like getting your report at the end of the school term!
We had a pretty massive intrusion tonight. A great way to end my time here! Someone had dropped ice cream on the belt so the ride had been stopped to clean it up. While it was stopped people started to get out of their shells and intrude the ride. We had about three go off at once. Then more and more triggered. It just got bigger and bigger. Anyway- after running around for about fifteen minutes, and three of us having to rack out to reset them- we were back up and running. Jeepers.
We also went 101 (closed) for some of the night. I really experienced a plethora of situations this evening! A final reminder of how it all works! This closure was because Ariel's face had stopped moving in one scene, and Scuttle was leaking in another.
Skylar and Kaitlin came by tonight. I told them it was my last night. We said our goodbyes, and semi organised to catch up tomorrow if possible. They have been great friends to meet. We have planned to become penpals too! I'm going to be writing lots. I never would have thought I would come to know guests as friends. Super cool.
As I was standing out at Fast Pass Greeter at the ride, I couldn't help but think how great the view is from that spot. I appreciated that I had the opportunity to have a job where I could see Beast's castle off to the right, Gaston's fountain, Mine Train in front of me, Dumbo to the left, and Space Mountain off in the distance, oh and not to forget Prince Eric's castle behind me.
As my shift neared its end, I was pulled out of rotation. I wasn't given a job to do so I went over to see Ariel at her grotto one last time. A few of the others had finished already and came with me too.

I also decided to go on the ride through with Rick and Alyssa.
I didn't want to leave without putting a fish on the wall, so I got to work on that. I didn't try very hard, but it was better than nothing.
After everyone had finished up there was a big group of us who headed to Stake and Shake. I sat with Diamond, it was her birthday. This fast food restaurant is funny. As you would expect, they sell steak and shakes. They are also open 24 hours. I tried a M and M's shake. I drank most of it. Yum.
They also sell Jerk Burgers. That's not very nice.
It was then home, quite late, and straight into bed before my busy day tomorrow.
What an odd feeling to have finished my job at Disney. I am relieved for it being over, I struggled with the long hours, the constant standing/walking, and the troublesome guests. However, I do believe I will miss the friends, the fabulous guests who made your day, and the knowledge that I was working within one of the most frequented guest locations in the world. It may not have been 'the happiest place in the world' for me, but it certainly was for others. And that happiness can fill the atmosphere.
I am still shocked at how lucky I was to be placed at The Little Mermaid ride, that was my request after all, all those months ago.
Like any other adventure you embark on in life, this experience has changed me. Maybe for good, or maybe for bad, but I will always have these experiences to look back on and use as examples for situations I may find myself in later on.
I guess the main thing is, I have completed my goal of working for The Walt Disney Company. This goal presented itself during our trip to Disneyland in 2000. I know Dad will be pleased I have now got it out of my system. And don't forget that powerful qualification I gained while here, the Disney Marketing Mousters!
