‘Ello there poppets. My name is Bruce (not really but Bruce is a pretty great character from Finding Nemo, he is just trying to do his part for the sea. Also if you have not yet seen Finding Nemo, I need you to close this blog before reading past the end of this sentence and go and watch it, then report back to me, cheers). So now that you have seen Finding Nemo, do you not think it’s probably one of the greatest movies of all time, what a story! I am also very excited for Finding Dory to come out and will be doing my best to see that at the very first screening in a cinema somewhere. Anywho, I still haven’t introduced myself, and if you don't know who it is already, I am Stacey! I am pretty much the next star of this blog, Polly Mouse being the first.
I just realised I have to go to work in an hour. Oh how the time flies!
I will give you a bit of info about me, I grew up in a small town in the Northern Territory called Nhulunbuy, it was a pretty sick upbringing, but now my town basically won’t really exist as of the end of the year as the refinery there is closing down and they are cutting 1500 jobs down to about 350. So that is a little sad, but I guess it’s just how the world works, who knows, it could become a historical monument one day! When I finished high school I moved to Brisbane for uni and studied hotel management and now that that is finished I am here in Florida on the college program! How lucky for me, because I got to meet Polly (and everyone else)!! And we are pretty much best friends now (still a few kinks to work out).
I decided to apply for the program in the hopes that I wouldn’treally have to get a proper job just yet, and it has proved to be much better than I had expected. Firstly, I was so worried about having terrible roommates and sharing my room space with another person, what is this? But luckily I have AWESOME housemates! We all get along really well and like hanging out with each other (for now anyway, a lot can happen in a couple of hours). My job is in attractions at Disney Quest and that is also somewhat great. My co-workers are pretty splendid and are fun to hang out and work with, work on the other hand is work and can get repetitive, but you always have the guests to talk with and some days that is what can pull you out of a funky mood and make your day. Oh my gosh, some of the little ones are just gorgeous and cannot wait to tell you about their holidays which I love!
BONUS: within Disney it is perfectly acceptable to start dancing and singing wherever and whenever you want. This perfectly fills in my wish of always wanting to be in a musical because you can make your own musical about mundane life things, like doing the dishes and sitting on the couch. Also the dance parties held over property are much fun and I can't help but boogie if I walk past one!
So I was sitting here with Polly writing her blog and realised that I had written the above post a month ago, so I thought it was about time to finish it off so I can become a published writer, and for the world to see my post! At the moment I am going through a mid-year crisis and being slightly panicky about what I am going to do when the program finishes. I am sure it will all work out but there is that. Other than that everything is moving along nicely. I am hoping to go shopping soon as I am in need of some new tops!
Well I have ranted on enough now, so I will sign off! Good day/night to you, and maybe before the program is up I will do another guest blog, depending on how lazy I get!
All the best, Stacey.
It has been like another 2 months since I have written the above and have still not posted! Much has happened in this time and I am pretty sure Polly would have kept you updated. In my life I took a quick trip back down under for my parents wedding (yes! Their first wedding) and that was just lovely, but very exhausting. This meant I was not at Disney for the 24 hour “Rock Your Disney Side” event, however I have heard stories and I am forever thankful that I don’t work at the big MK! I have also still not made any life plans, could mean I end up homeless and living on the streets of Canada very soon! Fingers crossed all works out haha.
Other than this I am going to be sad soon that I will have to leave all the people I have met here in Orlando, and am not looking forward to saying good bye for now, but I am excited for my adventures ahead (although not the job hunting ones).
Was nice to chat to you all again! I hope this will be posted now!
