Friday 24th Jan
A late start compared to Thursdays. A 6 hour shift is wonderful following an 11 hour one. I got to move around the positions again and have enjoyed talking to the families as they come through the ride or grotto. It isn't as much fun talking to the grumpy fathers who have been waiting in line for a long time, but this doesn't
happen too often.
We have a lot of princesses come through the ride, not as many pirates which makes me feel sad for the boys and brothers who see their sisters all dressed up for the day out.
I was lucky to be positioned on greeter when the fireworks were on. It was awesome to see Wishes going on as from our entrance in Fantasyland the fireworks go off directly behind our building and also in front of it by the castle. We can also hear the music which is played in time with them. When we are inside and the fireworks are going off they are so so loud. Mum would hate it, so would Gretel. But they are spectacular to see.
Sometimes when we are working on the outside positions our co-ordinators bring us hand warmers. I was lucky to get one so kept switching it from inside one glove to the other.
I finished my night off at the grotto merge position. This is where guests can come to meet Ariel. If you close on this position, you actually have no tasks to fulfil after the park closes. We closed at 10 so had no other jobs to do after. However I was rostered on till 10.45 so wasn't sure what to do. I checked with the co-ordinator and he got me to help clear the Forest area of fantasyland. We were waiting for a family to come out of the ladies bathroom near Gaston's tavern... But they never did. We both had seen them go in, but then when one of the others went to check there was no one in there. Freaky stuff. We are not sure where they disappeared to. We had a track talk in the tavern with one of the Managers as it was too cold to have it outside. Then it was home sweet home. Only had to wait for one bus thank goodness.
Once home I really felt like spag bowl. It was the latest I think I have ever made dinner in my life- but it was delicious and just what I felt like.
