Polly Mouse reporting for duty. It is very hard to keep up with these when there are two amazing friends/family/angels here visiting. I want to spend every moment possible with them so my blog drops down the list of priorities.
But lets head back to Sunday. I didn't have many hours to sleep between finishing work and getting up to go and catch the bus. In the morning I was so excited to be seeing my bestest friends that I even forgot to pack my toothbrush after brushing my teeth.
When I arrived at the bus stop I got a message from Kate Mouse to say her and Mum had arrived at the resort and were waiting for me. I just wanted to get there already but the buses were mucking around for a change. I must say- I was the only one at the stop with a suitcase to take with me.
I made it to Pop Century Resort and was pulling my bag across the car park, when suddenly I heard a familiar voice call out my name. "Pol, Pol, POLLY!". Right before my eyes was Kate running towards me. There was a massive hedge between us so she instructed me to wait on my side while she ran the length of the car park to get around to me. I am not going to lie- I started crying. Nothing like being reunited with someone special after having not seen them for some time and also having a few difficulties with your living circumstances.
I was looking around for Mum, and Kate informed me that she was over behind a Disney bus which had just pulled in. We were chanting- MOVE THAT BUS, MOVE THAT BUS. And then I saw her. My beautiful Mum. I lost it completely. Tears were springing all over the place. I was so so SO happy to be back with Mum and Kate. It is amazing what seeing loved ones can do to your spirit. All my stress and worries were off my mind instantly and I felt at ease, happy, and safe. Not that I don't feel safe here, but I knew these two would look after me for the next few weeks.
They had already checked into the resort but I had the room keys with me- so we found the way to our room. We are behind a massive statue of Lady from Lady and the Tramp in the 50s building. Outside our room is a pool shaped like a bowing pin.

We all had a few gifts and things to exchange so we swap our goods. I was extremely lucky to be delivered a variety of NZ goodies, as well as messages from friends and family back home, and presents too. Including a lovely basket of goodies from Manawanui- very unlike him! But such a wonderful surprise.
M&K hadn't had much sleep on their journey- and I hadn't had much over night so we had a nap for a few hours.
I got up before the others as I needed to head to work. They slowly arose and I bid them adieu as I made my way to the resort bus which would go to Magic Kingdom. I had left with 2 hours up my sleeve as I was unsure how long these buses would take. I need not have worried. They are extremely punctual and I got to work extremely EXTTREMELY early for my 12 hour shift. Seems a bit stupid really. M&K headed off to Downtown Disney to have a look around (Maybe Kate will fill you in in her blog).
My shift was long and all I wanted was to know everything M&K were doing. I kept messaging them but it turns out they were either out of internet range or asleep each time I tried to contact them.
We closed at 3am. We diidn't have many guests at all for the final few hours. The night hadn't been anything special, that is until those of us who had been closing were each given a cinamon bun from Gaston's Tavern at track talk. What an amazing way to finish off a LONG shift.
I clocked out quickly and made my way to the front of the park with the hopes of getting a resort bus back. I had called the resort front desk before leaving to check what time the buses were there till. They said one hour after closing- so I had 15 minutes up my sleeve.
Got out the front and there wasn't a bus or worker in site. The place/park was completely closed down and I had to run to the Contemporary Resort which is the closest resort to the park, and get the staff there to call me a taxi.

I finally made it back to the resort at 4.30am. Kate was sound asleep but Mum was awake and a lovely face to be welcomed home by. I asked about their adventures and then climbed into bed next to Kate- sure enough, she was over for a snuggle soon after.
I cannot believe they are here. These are going to be such wonderful weeks together. There is so much love in the air and I want to bag it all up and save it for the next month and a half!
