Start time today was 7.30pm. So I set my alarm so I could wake up with time to get my washing done. This ws a great idea- except I lost my laundry card. I hunted and hunted in the area I normally keep it, but no luck. I then looked everywhere else where it could possibly be- but still no luck. In the end I decided I would just go and buy a new one. One problem- the laundry card machine only accepts 5 dollar notes, but the ATM only gives you 20 dollar notes. The office normally doesn't let you exchange notes for smaller amounts- but for some reason this guy let me. Thank goodness.
On my way back to the apartment I stopped by the mail room to see if we had anything- I had a card from Mrs Bristow! Such a treat to see her writing on the envelope, and wonderful to hear her news.
Between washing and colouring in I got ready for work. On my way to work I found a dollar on the ground. I stopped to pick it up and it was actually twenty dollars! I couldn't believe it.
At the bus stop I bumped into Rory. It was his birthday today so I gave him a hug and then we both got on our separate buses and headed to work.
I was on the outside spot for Wishes again tonight so I got to watch the fireworks again. We had apower-cut soon after this so the ride was down for about an hour I think. I was still on the outside position so had to inform all the guests that we were not currently operating and to try back again later in the night.
Later in our long night I noticed there was some blood on the seat of one of the shells. This is known as a BBP so I had to close off that shell and call for a custodial to come and clean it up.
I closed the main console tonight. I was then on Lost and Found. By the time I got to the carousel to walk to City Hall with the others, they had already left. I headed on my own through the tunnels to drop off the few things which had turned up since the others had left.
Our bus ride home was very quiet. Lots of people were sleeping. At one of the stops a group of others got on who were just leaving for work. I think it is better to be getting home at 5am than it is to be leaving for work.
When I got home I had some rice which I had cooked earlier and then into bed. I start at 1.45 tomorrow and work through until 1.15. Long day following an early start today.
